My husband and I are at a point in our lives where we feel it is time to give something back.
We’ve had difficulty becoming parents ourselves yet we have been blessed with good health, good
jobs, and a loving home. I was a foster child before I was adopted in 1968 and I feel the need
to give other children the wonderful opportunity I was given at such a vulnerable time in my life.
When we were first asked to give our profile we had not had a child placed with us yet. We now
have two little boys who have enriched our lives immensely. My husband and I feel blessed to have
the opportunity to impact these children’s lives for however long they will be a part of our home.
We feel the nine weeks of training prepared us for this challenge and the people at the Office of
Children and Youth have been splendid to work with.
We cannot say enough how thankful and blessed we are to be a part of this program. We feel
confident in saying that we will be a part of the program for years to come. We encourage
other people interested in becoming a foster parent to enroll.
It’s one of the best decisions we ever made and I’m sure it will be yours.
