Mary Helen Lindsey
("Big Ma")

I wanted to become a foster parent to give children a stable home and family life. Foster parenting is not like raising your own children because many of these children come with a lot of baggage in areas. However, just like raising your own children you need love, energy, patience, nurturing and understanding. It is the most challenging job I have had in my life. I often place myself in my kid's shoes to better understand where they came from and what they need from me. It is a very rewarding position to be their mother.
