FAQ's

Supportive Host Families are caring people who want to help a child succeed in life. They also enjoy spending time with children and they make a difference in a child's life. They have the ability to become a part of a team and advocate for a child.

Supportive Host Families can be single or married, with or without children, they can work or be stay at home parents and it makes no difference if they rent or own their own home.

They are families just like yours!

Who is the child you will be working with?

The child you will be working with is a child who is currently residing in a residential treatment facility and who has challenging behavior. This child may not have a family resource to visit them or to be placed with at the time of discharge from the residential center.

A Supportive Host Family has the opportunity to work with the child and be able to develop the skills necessary to help the child to live successfully in a family setting.

A Supportive Host Family can also become a foster parent for the child through the Agency's Supportive Placement Program.

By spending the time with a challenged youth you can make a difference in a child's life as well as enhance your own life.

Host Families will receive:
  • Individualized training
  • Ongoing support
  • Financial reimbursement
